Navigating change

Navigating Change traces the subtle yet powerful stages we pass through before transformation. Each painting embodies a distinct moment in the inner journey — from playful curiosity to restless overthinking, and finally to the quiet resistance of staying within the familiar.

Leela (लीला) evokes the divine play of imagination — that first spark where curiosity awakens and everything feels alive with possibility.
Manas (मनस्) captures the restless mind, spiraling between perception and doubt, scattering potential into endless analysis.
Antaraya (अन्तराय) reveals the obstacle — the invisible walls of fear, comfort, and overthinking that hold us within the familiar, even as the world beyond calls us forward.

Together, these works map the delicate terrain between inspiration and hesitation, longing and restraint. They invite us to reflect on what truly gives us the courage to cross the threshold, step into the unknown, and embrace growth with authenticity.

This series carries a personal resonance. It was conceived after a period of deep immersion in Ashtanga Yoga and yogic philosophy during a 2016 pilgrimage to Mysore, India. Surrounded by the colors, traditions, and teachings of that experience, I began to explore Sanskrit and the spiritual pathways it opened. These paintings are a reflection of how those practices shaped my inner landscape — and how they continue to echo through my art as I navigate my own journey of transformation.
